10 Foreign Players Already Confirmed of Playing in PSL 2017 final?
Amidst talks that the International players’ body has advised cricketers not to travel to Pakistan to feature in the PSL final that is said to be played in Lahore, the PCB has announced that 10 players from abroad have agreed to feature in the final in the country. However, no names have been named yet.
Online reports are saying that the PSL governing council has received assurances from nearly a dozen players, however there has been no official confirmation around the same. Also getting an assurance from players is one thing but the big questions is if they have signed up the agreement to move ahead with that decision.
What is of chief concern is that security in the country and more specifically in and around Lahore for the final. There have been suggestions that players will be flown in and out of the city on the day of the game itself. District administration and security agencies are making plans to ensure there were no issues for the game.
What is also yet to happen is a visit by the chief of English Cricket Board (ECB), Giles Clarke for a look at the security plans and how have things progressed in terms of the player security and if teams can consider touring the country for bilateral series.
According to reports, the media accreditation forms for the PSL 2017 final have already been released and if the teams that make the final have players who don’t want to travel to Pakistan, a separate Draft will be held for them to add players from other teams.
PSL chairman Najam Sethi has already said the PCB could consider giving foreign players more money if they agreed to play the PSL Final in Pakistan.
Do you think foreign players will play in the PSL 2017 final if it’s played in Pakistan? Do you think PSL should reconsider its decision to have its final in Pakistan if players opt out of it?
